Terms of Sale & Website Use

1. Acceptance of these terms

By browsing this website or placing an order with Soufiane Zarib, you agree to the terms set out on this page. If you do not agree with any part of them, please contact us before placing an order rather than proceeding.

2. About us

Soufiane Zarib is a rug house founded in Marrakech in 2008, operating from a showroom at 16 rue Sidi Ali Ben Hamdouch, Dar el Bacha, and an archive and workshop in Sidi Ghanem, Marrakech, Morocco. You can reach us at info@soufiane-zarib.com or +212 615 285 690.

3. Our rugs

Every Beni Ourain rug, Tuareg mat and vintage Berber carpet we sell is hand-knotted or hand-plaited from natural materials by Berber artisans. Because each piece is handmade, small irregularities in colour, pattern and knot density are normal and are part of what makes it authentic rather than a fault. Dimensions listed for each rug are measured by hand and may vary by a few centimetres. Photographs are taken to represent colour as accurately as possible, but natural wool tones can appear slightly different depending on light and screen settings.

4. Pricing & availability

Because our collection is made up of one-of-a-kind and limited pieces, prices are confirmed personally on request rather than listed publicly on the site. A price quoted to you is valid for a reasonable period while you decide, but is not guaranteed indefinitely, and a rug remains available to other buyers until your order is confirmed and, where applicable, a deposit or payment is received.

5. Orders & payment

An order is confirmed once we have agreed the piece, the price and the delivery details with you, and payment has been received or arranged through an agreed method. We accept major payment methods, which will be confirmed with you at the time of your order. You are responsible for providing accurate delivery and contact information.

6. Shipping & delivery

We ship worldwide from Marrakech; full details of timing, tracking, packaging and customs are set out in our Delivery Information page, which forms part of these terms. Delivery dates given before or after an order is confirmed are estimates and not guaranteed, though we will always tell you promptly if a delay looks likely.

7. Returns, refunds & exchanges

You have 14 days from the date of delivery to decide whether a rug is right for your space. If it is not, contact us within that window to arrange a return: the rug must be unused and in its original condition, and return shipping is the buyer's responsibility. Once we receive and inspect the returned rug, we will issue a full refund to your original payment method, usually within 10 business days. Rugs that have been used, altered or damaged after delivery, and any final-sale item clearly marked as such at the time of purchase, are not eligible for return.

8. Authenticity guarantee

We will not sell a rug we do not believe to be genuinely hand-knotted or hand-plaited by Berber artisans, and every piece is inspected personally by Soufiane before it leaves Marrakech. If a rug is ever conclusively shown not to be as described, we will offer a full refund or replacement, in addition to any return rights described above.

9. Intellectual property

The text, photography, logo and design of this website belong to Soufiane Zarib and may not be copied, reproduced or used commercially without our written permission. You are welcome to share individual pages or images for personal, non-commercial purposes, with attribution.

10. Limitation of liability

We take care to describe every rug accurately and to package and ship it safely, and our liability for a shipment is covered by the insurance described in our Delivery Information page. Beyond replacing, repairing or refunding a rug that arrives damaged, is lost, or is not as described, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your purchase, to the extent permitted by law.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Kingdom of Morocco, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protection rights you may have under the law of your own country of residence.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time to reflect changes in our services or in the law. The "last updated" date at the top of this page shows when they were last revised; continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.

These terms are provided for general information about how we do business and are not a substitute for independent legal advice. If anything here is unclear, please contact us before placing an order.
